how about retiring the phrase “the 80’s, 90’s, and today!” since “today” is no longer the decade from 2000-2009. why does no one call the 2000’s the noughties? we’re in the TENS! so weird.

who the SHIT does youtube think it is, allowing copyright notices on videos of individuals covering music. that website would be nothing—the INTERNET would be nothing— without creative people showing their take on popular songs, movies, etc. the entire creative INDUSTRY is based on riffing off of someone else.

do record labels or whoever is behind this REALLY think that they can keep millions of people from playing guitar or piano and singing a pop song? i just “disputed” (their term) two of my videos with three out of four properties that protect them under fair use. i don’t know if they are just preying on (and counting on) people being ignorant and scared of the law, or if they’re just giving me a really big compliment by saying my webcam video of “halo” affects beyonce’s market, but either way, I SHALL NOT HAVE IT.
